Following the successful completion of the SEC Laboratory Phase 1 Project, Architon were commissioned to provide the bigger and more expansive Phase 2 Project in the Main Building on the Penrhyn Road campus. The project included Chemistry and Nuclear Sciences Laboratories, a Bioinformatics area for computing gene sequencing together with other specialist areas, break out and write up areas. One of the main drivers for this project was to create a large multi-purpose facility where staff and taught post-graduates could work alongside research staff.
