Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital

Architon supported the delivery of a new radiotherapy treatment suite within Guy’s Cancer Centre, strengthening cancer care provision at one of the UK’s leading healthcare institutions.

Centered around a state-of-the-art Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator, the facility has been designed to support advanced image-guided radiotherapy treatments within a carefully planned and patient-focused environment. The suite includes specialist treatment accommodation, a control room, consultation facilities, changing areas, staff workspaces and supporting clinical infrastructure.

A key design objective was to create a calm and reassuring experience for patients. Coordinated artwork, thoughtful wayfinding and carefully considered interior environments provide continuity with the wider Guy’s Cancer Centre while helping to reduce anxiety during treatment.

The completed facility combines leading-edge clinical technology with a welcoming healthcare environment, supporting highly targeted cancer treatments and enhancing the patient experience throughout the care journey.
